Welcome to Kari’s Korner

Hi! My name is Kari, and I am one-half of the Social Media Made Us Buy It team. Along with my sister Myla, our goal is to bring you honest reviews on all the latest and greatest products you see all over social media. We both love trying new things, so we decided we might as well have a little fun with it.

Okay, so a little more about me. I am a wife, mom, and most importantly, a grandma. I work full-time as a respiratory therapist (RT), and I also recently decided to get my real estate license. I haven’t had a chance to do much with real estate yet, but I’m really hoping to get that career on track soon! I have a home bakery license, and at one point, had a full-time home-based cheesecake business. My cheesecakes were in several local convenient stores and I was doing pretty good. Then covid happened and everything changed. I ended going back to work as a full-time travel RT and have never looked back. I still take orders for whole cheesecakes on the side, and occasionally do cakes, cookies, or cupcakes for people, as well.

My hobbies other than baking/cooking include hunting, fishing, reading, writing, and of course, anything that involves spending time with my grandkids! I am definitely an avid outdoorswoman. I feel like my hobby list is kind of small and limited, and I am always thinking I need to find something else to do, but to be honest, I have absolutely no free time left for new projects. This (Social Media Made Us Buy It) is my new project and I’m very excited to get this journey started.

So, what made me decide to do reviews? Simple! I love trying new things. I won’t lie to you: I generally order things with a touch of skepticism and a whole lot of curiosity. I see something and my brain instantly says, “there’s no way that really works”. And then, I have to find out for myself. Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised. Other times, not so much. Either way, I love the excitement of trying something new and putting it to the test. My reviews will be 100% honest. I will tell you what I love and what I hate about a product.
