Cirkul: Water Made Better?

Okay. So, this is one I had to try. I truly am that person who has always hated water. I’ve tried so many different brands of bottled water hoping to find the one that was going to convert me. I’ve done the mineral waters, the vitamin waters, and all those other flavored waters that were sure to win me over. But it never happened. I’ve done the liquid flavors that you squirt into your water bottle. I’ve tried all the powders. I truly had given up on ever becoming a water drinker. I was a die-hard soda drinker, and I had succumbed to the fact that I was just going to stay that way.

Then I saw everyone posting all over TikTok about the Cirkul water bottle. People were claiming it had changed their lives; they had been converted to water drinkers. Was it really true? Could this bottle and its flavor cartridges really turn a water hater into a true water lover?

Well, I was going to find out. I ordered my Cirkul water bottle about 6 months ago. I wasn’t sure what flavors to choose, so I just selected about 10 different options hoping I would find at least one or two that I would like; they had way more to pick from than I had expected. Once I picked my flavors, I selected my bottle. They had several sizes and options to choose from, including stainless steel. However, not being a water drinker I wasn’t quite ready to spend the extra money on the stainless steel bottle. I went with a 22 oz plastic bottle with the pink accented lid, and I even ordered a chill sleeve to go with my bottle.

The order took a little longer to get than I had hoped for. I can’t remember the exact time frame, but it was somewhere close to 2 weeks. Yet, once I got my Cirkul package I was really excited. I couldn’t wait to try this “life-changing” water bottle. So, I popped in my first cartridge expecting it to be the one I would really love, only to be disappointed. I tried adjusting the flavor (the cartridge can be dialed in from X for no flavor all the way up to O, which is basically 10). No matter what number I set it at, I just didn’t care for the flavor. I decided not to let 1 flavor be a deal breaker, so I tried another…and loved it!! I managed to get about 5 or 6 bottles out of that first cartridge I stuck with. I was honestly dying to try another flavor out, but I didn’t want to waste one that I knew I liked. And, I WAS DRINKING WATER! That in itself was a really big deal to me.

Since that original shipment, I have gone on to try somewhere close to 20 different flavor cartridges. And, maybe to call the bottle “life changing” seems a bit much to most people, but as someone who went from only drinking soda to mainly drinking water, with an occasional soda thrown in, it’s a pretty accurate statement. I admit that I feel much better since switching to water. And in case you’re wondering if Cirkul is healthy, the cartridges themselves are free of sugars, artificial flavors, and dyes. So, the sips (as Cirkul calls them) are definitely a healthy alternative to sodas and other sugary drinks.

I will go on to say that there have been claims made that mold has formed in or on the cartridges. I personally have had no issues with this. I even left a cartridge in my spare bottle for over 2 weeks making sure to flip it over from time to time in order to keep it wet. I had no signs of mold growth in or on my cartridge or in the bottle. Keep in mind, I did not drink from the bottle during this little experiment, and it was only 1 cartridge. Is it possible that people have had issues? My instinct is to say yes. Anything that is kept wet or damp for extended periods of time has potential. Other envrionmental factors can also play a large role in the growth of mold. All I can say is that I have never had issues. I also never use the same sip for more than 3 or 4 days.

Besides the fact that I’m drinking water, and all of the amazing flavors, another thing I really love about my Cirkul bottle is the stay-in-place flip top cap. It locks on tight every single time; I never have to worry about it popping off. And even if it did, there would be no problem. Cirkul water bottles do not leak! Not only does the flip top stay in place, you can also lock it down out of your way with the convenient tab on the side of sip.

I am a Cirkul lover, which is not what I expected to be saying when I decided to give this product a try. I figured this would be another one of those things that I bought and either gave away or threw in the trash. But since that first order, I have gone onto to buy another bottle (one of their new bottle drops), which is the bright yellow bottle you are seeing in the pictures. I have also become a monthly sip subscriber. I have my favorite flavors that I receive every month, and then I always go in and add a few other flavors so that I can try something new.

I have seen more good reviews than bad ones. So, if you want to add more water to your life, I say give Cirkul a try. However, do it with some caution. You don’t want to spend a fortune and then hate what you bought. I recommend picking out just 4 or 5 flavors that you think you will like.. Don’t go overboard. The bottles are BPA free and come in sizes from 12 oz up to 42 oz. You can also order them in stainless steel. They are reasonably priced, especially the plastic bottles. On the other hand, I have heard complaints about the cost of the cartridges. At the time of this review the cartridges were $3.75/each. This may sound a bit pricey, but considering you can get 5 to 6 bottles of water per sip I find the price to be well worth it. Of course, keep in mind you do have to add your own water.

Alright. There you have it. I love the Cirkul water bottle. I hate to use thIs phrase, but Cirkul truly has been “life-changing” for me. You don’t realize how much water really can do for you if you never drink it.

If you’ve tried the Cirkul water bottle, I’d love to hear your thoughts. And just in case you’re wondering, my current favorite sip flavors are the sweet tea and lemon, raspberry lemonade, blackberry, and peach tea.

What are you sipping?
