I Tried the $13 Viral ‘Duck Lips’ Plumping Gloss But Did It Give Me a Dramatically Fuller Pout?

MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE NYX DUCK PLUMP HIGH PIGMENT LIP GLOSS

I decided to test the shade “Apri-Caught,” Which is a muted peachy color and I think goes well with my skin tone. The color is gorgeous, and very pigmented and not sheer as I would have expected from a gloss. The Duck Lips Plumping Lip Gloss formula is very thick, not thin and runny like a typical lip gloss.

One of the things I really love about this gloss is how pigmented it actually is!! It also comes in a wide variety of 18 shades including a clear gloss. Chances are they have a shade you are going to love.

THE PLUMPING EFFECT

The tingling and slight burning effect from the ginger extract started almost immediately. While it was a little uncomfortable, it wasn’t painful or unbearable like some other plumping glosses I have tried in the past. My lips did not start plumping or changing right away. I did start to notice after about 5 minutes my lips were a little plumper.

Were my lips duck plump plumper like all the influencers on TikTok and other social media outlets are saying? No, not even close. Does this make me question if they may be using filters or some other trickery? Maybe, or maybe I just had a different experience.

There is just really no way to know what another persons experience really is so we all have to judge for ourselves. I have seen a few other reviews similar to mine questioning those big duck lip/lip filler type results but I digress. You judge by your results and I will go by mine.

OVERALL IMPRESSION

The Nyx Duck Lips Plumping Lip Gloss gave me a visibly plumper pout. I didn’t have duck lips or look like I had lip injections, so it does still leave me wondering if the influencers were manipulating their videos and pictures just a bit? I know I know I’ll stop now!!

Overall, it’s a great product. Very pigmented, high gloss fabulous plumping effect. If you don’t like the burning, tingling sensation of plumping glosses I would stay away from this one because it’s there and starts almost immediately. For me it wasn’t overwhelming, but it was immediate and did last for several minutes.
