IL Makiage is truly a TikTok made us buy product!! I don’t think anyone on social media can say this product hasn’t popped up in their feed at some point.

IL Makiage Woke Up Like This Foundation is Easily buildable due to its ultra-fluid texture, becoming one with the skin for traceless, uniform, medium-to-high coverage. The foundation is said to have special, optically-corrective powders that blur the look of fine lines, redness, and blemishes, while light-diffusing spheres deflect attention from all imperfections.

But Does It Work?
The way this works is you take their skin matching quiz and they come up with the shade matching your skin tone based on the answers you give. Is this a perfect matching process? I have seen missed reviews on this however keep in mind this is based on answers not actually a picture or professional seeing your skin so of course there is room for error.
My honest opinion from what I have seen and experienced they do a good job based on the answers you provide. Also, they do have a money back guarantee so if you aren’t happy with the results, you will be refunded.
My Results
My before and after photos are posted below. You can see this foundation does cover the redness and has a little blurring effect. It doesn’t cover everything, my age spots definitely show through, so I do have to add concealer for better coverage. I don’t have any complaints about the coverage, it does own up to the claims as far as coverage goes.
The IL Makiage foundation is a buildable foundation and can be built up to a full coverage foundation which is what I prefer.
Now for the wear test. These results were not fabulous, however they do recommend for long wear to use primer and setting spray.
The foundation on its own does not hold up, after an 8 hour work day it either separated and looked streaked or just appeared to be gone. I did wear it several times and in different ways, without primer, with primer, setting spray and no setting spray. The results were the same.
What I did do that made a difference, mixing the primer with the foundation made a several hour difference as well as mixing with another foundation. So by adding the primer or long wear foundation into the IL Makiage Foundation it lasted well past the 8 hour work day!!
I do also want to be sure to mention I do have very oily skin and this could be a reason the foundation separated or disappeared throughout the day.
Would I Recommend It To A Friend?
I would absolutely recommend you give this foundation a try. The coverage is fabulous, and it is buildable. It isn’t heavy so it doesn’t feel like a lot of other medium to full coverage foundations.
There is a blurring effect and does reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores. My skin appears smoother and a little more radiant even with the matte finish and I do love this!!
The price is a little higher than I normally spend on a foundation. On the plus side of that I also use a lot less than I would for some of the other foundations I have purchased in the past. The regular price is $45 while the subscription price is $40.50 which can be canceled at any time.
